Sigung Moy Tung

One of Grand Master Moy Yat's closest disciples and senior member of the Special Students Association (Chinatown, New York) is Master Moy Tung. Master Moy Tung has been a member of the S.S.A. for over 20 years. In 1980 he began training his Ving Tsun after 10 years of experience in martial arts, having experimented with every style he could find. He was searching for the true source of the martial arts, and his philosophy was to train with anyone
who could beat him in full-contact sparring. In a year, he was doing Ving Tsun exclusively - he had dominated all his previous instructors with the Ving Tsun concepts. In 1986 Moy Tung founded his first school - American Kung Fu Academy (a Moy Yat branch school) - in downtown Richmond, Virginia. His idea was to train people to be fighters as well as teachers/business owners, and in doing so began seeing his students have the same success he had had.

Another principle Master Moy Tung has followed is the idea that selfish kung fu usually winds up being bad kung fu. In other words, once given the gift of Ving Tsun, it is important for one to apply it in some way; either by teaching the art to others or by using it to achieve greater things than would otherwise be possible. Moy Tung helped establish the Grand Special Student association (G.S.S.) to provide Moy Yat's grand students an opportunity to learn directly from Moy Yat.

Master Moy Tung is a renowned full-contact fighter, teacher of thousands of students, grandstudents, and even great-grandstudents. In addition to kung fu, Master Moy Tung has studied film and directing at Art Center Pasadena , authored several movie scripts, and produced and directed many videos.

Today there are numerous Moy Tung branches and clubs open under his guidance around the country. Moy Tung family members continue to receive distinctive honors in tournaments and other events around the country.

Master Moy Tung is truly the embodiment of living, breathing Ving Tsun.
